Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan Sign Tax Agreement

At a session of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Co-operation in Tashkent a package of intergovernmental agreements were signed.
In particular the countries signed an agreement for collaboration and exchange of information in tax matters and exchanged views on further strengthening co-operation in the banking and financial sector.
It was said that several joint ventures had already been set up between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijani partners in the fields of energy, light industry, mechanical engineering, metalworking, insurance, science and education, food industry, construction, trade and service sectors.
There were also inter-department agreements in the area of environment and information-communication technologies, scientific-technical cooperation, and development of multi-modal rail transport.
