USD5.6bn Declared Through Argentinian Tax Amnesty So Far

by Mike Godfrey, Tax-News.com, Washington

04 January 2017

Argentina has hailed early results from its tax amnesty program, with ARS90bn (USD5.6bn) said to have been disclosed.

Argentina's former finance minister, in his final press conference, disclosed that the tax amnesty had been a resounding success, which will prop the nation up financially.

The surge in declarations came ahead of the increase, from January 2017, in the penalty rate of tax to 15 percent for the final three months of the amnesty, from 10 percent.
