UK Updates List Of Tax Deductible Professional Body Fees

by Jason Gorringe,, London

03 March 2017

HM Revenue and Customs has updated its list of professional bodies and learned societies with tax-deductible fees.

The tax authority has also released a new form, P356, for organizations to apply for inclusion in the list.

Taxpayers can reclaim tax they pay on fees or subscriptions to some approved professional organizations if it is helpful or required for their work.

Tax cannot be reclaimed for fees or subscriptions paid to professional organizations not approved by HM Revenue and Customs or for life membership subscriptions or fees or subscriptions paid for a taxpayer by another on their behalf.
