UAE Issues VAT Guidance On Invoicing

The United Arab Emirates Federal Tax Authority has newly issued guidance on value-added tax invoicing rules.
The guidance explains Article 59 of the Executive Regulations on VAT, which set out the requirements on taxable persons to issue invoices.
The new guidance explains the following:
- The requirement to issue a tax invoice, or where permitted a simplified tax invoice, to the recipient of a supply;
- The rules on simplified invoices and the items that must be included;
- The rules concerning tax invoices issued in a foreign currency, which must show a tax amount converted to Emirati dirham; and
- Rules concerning the rounding of figures on tax invoices.
