The United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed an agreement with the United Kingdom on the avoidance of double taxation on April 12, 2016.

Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, said that the agreement will strengthen the economic ties between the two countries.

The Minister said that the UAE is continuing to expand its network of double tax agreements in order to "enhance the country's economic competitiveness, and benefit the investments of the public and private sectors, and individuals."

The UAE also recently signed a double tax agreement with Jordan, as well as a tax information exchange agreement with Finland.
