Trinidad And Tobago Issues Guidance On VAT Zero Rate

by Mike Godfrey, Tax-News.com, Washington

08 February 2016

Trinidad and Tobago's Ministry of Finance has released further guidance on the goods and services newly subject to a zero rate of VAT.

The list of items subject to a zero rate was amended following the entry into force of the Value Added Tax (Amendment to Schedule 2) Order 2016 on February 1, 2016.

The zero rate covers basic foodstuffs, certain medical and healthcare supplies, certain agricultural supplies, educational books, domestic travel between Trinidad and Tobago, and steel band instruments.
