Swiss Tax Deals With Brazil To Become Effective

by Ulrika Lomas, Tax-News.com, Brussels

21 January 2019

Authorities in Switzerland and Brazil will begin exchanging tax information from January 1, 2020.

The Swiss Government has newly announced that a tax information exchange agreement between the two countries entered into force on January 4, 2019. It is Switzerland's 10th tax information exchange and provides for the exchange of information on request.

The agreement covers tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2020. Parliament is currently considering another agreement with Brazil, for the avoidance of double tax, which would also become effective from 2020 if finalized this year.
