Singapore Yacht Show Program Extended

by Mary Swire, Tax-News.com, Hong Kong

21 December 2012

Andy Treadwell, the managing director of the Singapore Yacht Show, has announced that following expressions of interest from participants and stakeholders, it has been agreed that the main event will run for an additional day, from April 18, 2013, until April 21, 2013.

Treadwell said the decision had been taken on account of the high costs and logistical efforts of exhibiting at the event. He hoped that the date extension would allow both exhibitors and visitors to maximize the networking opportunity the show presents. "Extending by a day to the more normal four days allows the exhibitors to enjoy maximum exposure to this very important emerging yachting and boating market, and for new buyers to gain full insight into the luxury marine leisure lifestyle," he said.

The third year of the event will be held at Sentosa Cove, an exclusive residential area, the product of a five-island land reclamation project. Tailored to Asia’s rapidly-increasing community of ultra-high net worth individuals, the elite event will also next year incorporate a fine art exhibition, a supercar show, and a VIP gala evening.

Some 250 key industry players will attend the 5th Asia Pacific Superyacht Conference on the two days preceding the show. The event's organizers have also just announced that an inaugural Singapore Private Jet Forum will run alongside the superyacht industry conference at the ONE°15 Marina Club.

“For six days, there will be a concentration of key people meeting and discussing the luxury leisure lifestyle industries emerging in Asia. As far as we know this will be the first time such a series of complementary events will be held in South East Asia. There is no doubt in our minds, as organizers, that such a synergetic gathering will have a tremendous impact, and help drive business to the show," Treadwell concluded.
