Serbia's Finance Minister, Dušan Vujovic, has introduced into Parliament draft legislation to amend the Law on Value Added Tax.

Vujovic stated that the amendments are intended to more closely align Serbian rules with those in the EU, to boost foreign investment in the country.

As well as harmonizing Serbian rules with those in the EU, the amendment would establish a 10 percent VAT rate on hotel accommodation, public transport services, and certain construction sector services.
