Russia To Introduce Grain Export Tariff
by Tatiana Smolenska, Tax- News.com, Moscow

The Russian Government is to impose a temporary duty on the export of grain, due to falling prices caused by the weakening of the Russian rouble.
The country's Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev, asked one of his deputies to prepare proposals in consultation with leading exporters. He said that measures were needed to ensure Russia's food security.
The move follows the implementation of informal controls that have brought criticism from the Russian Grain Union.
