Russia Files WTO Complaint Against EU Duties

by Ulrika Lomas, Tax-News.com, Brussels

31 January 2017

Russia has requested World Trade Organisation (WTO) dispute consultations with the EU in a case involving EU anti-dumping duties on certain steel products.

The WTO said that Russia had notified the WTO Secretariat of its request on January 27. It regards anti-dumping duties imposed by the EU on imports of certain cold-rolled flat steel products originating from Russia.

The request for consultations formally initiates a dispute in the WTO. If consultations have not resolved the dispute within 60 days, the complainant may request adjudication by a panel.
