Romania To Reduce VAT On Water Supplies

by Ulrika Lomas, Tax-News.com, Brussels

27 October 2015

Romania's Finance Minister, Eugen Teodorovici, has announced that VAT on supplies of water will be reduced to nine percent from January 1, 2016.

The reduce rate will apply to supplies to both domestic and commercial consumers.

This latest change follows the passage of Romania's Tax Code for 2016 last month, which included a reduction in the headline VAT rate from 24 percent to 20 percent also from next year.
