Push For EU Parl Committee On Tax Compliance Breaches

by Ulrika Lomas, Tax-News.com, Brussels

Members of the European Parliament's special inquiry into money laundering have called for the creation of a permanent standing committee to investigate breaches of tax law.

Parliament's Special Committee on Money Laundering, Tax Avoidance, and Evasion (PANA) held a public hearing on the Paradise Papers on November 28.

The committee's chair, Werner Langen, made the call at the start of the session. He also said that, prior to the establishment of the desired standing committee, there should be a special inquiry into the allegations of aggressive tax planning arising from the Paradise Papers.
