According to UK Paymaster General, Dawn Primarolo, the Tax Law Rewrite Project, now on its twelfth exposure draft, is continuing to make good progress, and will be available on the internet as a consultation document towards the end of this month.
Responding to a Parliamentary question, Ms Primarolo revealed that the project has begun to address the PAYE (Pay As You Earn) regulations.
However, in order to accommodate the needs of professional bodies, who asked that the timetable of revision be altered in order to allow more time for consultation, Ms Primarolo has agreed that the rewritten regulations should be agreed in 2003, to come into force in 2004.
