Philippines Launches E-Payments Portal For Tax

The Philippines' Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has launched a digital tax payments system.
The new system will allow Filipinos to pay their taxes online using the electronic funds transfer service PESOnet. The initiative forms part of a broader government digitalization project.
According to the Government, PESOnet will improve efficiency in the collection of tax and non-tax revenues and make paying bills more convenient for taxpayers.
The Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) and the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) are the pilot participating banks that will process the electronic collections of the taxes. The Department of Finance is working with the BIR to increase the number of participating banks that will process tax payments via PESOnet.
