Peru Announces July Deadline For Tax Debt Amnesty Scheme

by Glen Shapiro, Tax-News.com, Washington

27 June 2017

Peru's Government has said that taxpayers have until July 31 to submit their applications for its amnesty for tax debts.

Under the scheme, qualifying taxpayers will have the interest and fines on their debt reduced by between 50 percent and 90 percent. The amnesty also allows people to pay off their debts in installments.

By the end of May, nearly 5,000 applications for the amnesty had been submitted, covering a tax debt of more than PEN206 million (USD62.8m).
