Paraguay Reports Steady Increase In Online Tax Payments

by Mike Godfrey, Tax-News.com, Washington

Taxpayers in Paraguay are increasingly taking to the internet to pay their taxes, according to a report from the country's tax department.

From January to August this year PYG1.77 trillion (USD387m) in tax was paid online, accounting for 28 percent of all taxes paid during the period, and up from 24 percent last year.

Paraguay's online tax administration system was introduced in 2008, enabling taxpayers to send corporate income tax and value-added tax forms electronically, and also view tax statuses and print declarations.
