Pakistan Extends Income Tax Filing Date

by Mary Swire, Tax-News.com, Hong Kong

06 October 2016

Pakistan's Finance Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, has extended by another month the filing deadline for income tax returns from salaried employees, individuals, association of persons, and companies.

The extension was announced on September 30 in view of Eid-ul-Adha holidays falling in the month of September 2016 and the fact that a number of taxpayers and their consultants were in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj. The Minister noted that the taxpayers could not find ample time for filing their tax returns.

The regular filing date was due on August 31, but the deadline was earlier extended till September 30. The new deadline is October 31.
