No Tax Increase In Senegal's Budget

by Lorys Charalambous, Tax-News.com, Cyprus

19 October 2015

Senegal's Minister for the Budget, Birima Mangara, has said there will be no tax increases in the 2016 Budget.

The recently released draft budget includes an ambitious target for tax collections of XOF1.72 trillion (USD2.98m), which will be found by improvements to tax administration and heightened enforcement efforts.

Mangara said that, in collaboration with the International Monetary Fund, the Government is seeking to ensure that it can keep taxes low, to promote consumption and inward investment, partly by lowering the government wage bill.
