Moroccan Customs To Accept Electronic Payments

by Lorys Charalambous, Tax-News.com, Cyprus

The Moroccan Customs and Indirect Tax Administration has announced the launch of a new online platform for businesses to pay customs and indirect taxes.

The development is part of a general move toward an entirely electronic system of tax assessment and payment. Payment can be made via the "BADR" portal, by connecting and selecting the charges they wish to pay. Payment can then be made by bank card and a receipt is sent by email.

The Authority has encouraged businesses to use the portal and issued guidance on the portal's use, titled Paiement Electronique par carte - Partie Déclarant and available in French.
