Luxembourg and Uzbekistan have signed a protocol to add information exchange provisions to their existing double tax avoidance treaty.

The Protocol was signed by Luxembourg Minister of Finance Pierre Gramegna and Uzbekistan's National Tax Committee Chairman, Botir Parpiev, on September 18. The Protocol updates the 1997 tax treaty with information exchange provisions that are in line with the OECD's latest standards in this area.

The Protocol also includes provisions on mutual assistance in the recovery of taxes.
