Kenya Simplifies Tax Compliance

by Lorys Charalambous, Tax-News.com, Cyprus

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and the Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA) have launched a platform whereby a wide range of business taxes are now able to be paid through the bank.

In a move that is hoped to boost tax compliance in Kenya, CBA's banking services have been integrated with KRA's Common Cash Receipting System to enable the real-time payment of domestic taxes and customs duties, among others.

Taxes will be able to be paid through any of CBA's branches throughout Kenya, as well as through its internet banking service. The platform will also be available to those businesses that are not customers of CBA.
