According to local media reports, Indonesia is to introduce a tax on video and game streaming services and on certain digital services starting July 1, 2020.

Tax will apply at a rate of 10 percent, the Department of Finance confirmed. It is intended to level the playing field for domestic providers of digital products.

Provisions for the law were included in Finance Ministerial Regulation No. 48/2020.
