Indian Advance Tax Collections Up

Indian advance tax collections for the month of December saw a 10.44% growth over the same period last year.

The collections, for the period to December 20, are worth INR782.26bn (USD14.2bn). This compares with a figure of INR708.26bn collected during the corresponding period in 2011.

For the financial year to date, advance tax collections have improved by 7.52% over the same April-December period last year. In particular, corporation tax revenue rose by 7% and personal income tax by 12.3%.
