India's Ministry of Finance on October 27 published a notification exempting services rendered by companies in Nepal and Bhutan from India's GST where the consideration is in Indian rupees.
Previously, the purchase of such services was only exempted where the payment was made in convertible foreign currency.
The change will benefit Nepali and Bhutanese businesses who have been fulfilling outsourcing contracts negotiated with Indian companies and international trading companies.
