India To Offer Guidance On Complex Tax Law Matters

by Mary Swire, Tax-News.com, Hong Kong

05 May 2015

On May 1, 2015, the Indian Ministry of Finance requested that industry associations and taxpayers identify areas where clarity on the application of tax laws is required.

The call for submissions follows the creation of India's High Level Committee on November 26, 2014, which is intended to provide guidance to taxpayers on Indian tax law matters.

The Committee was launched to provide investors with greater certainty with regards to their future tax treatment in India, responding to concerns about the complexity of Indian tax rules and retroactive changes to tax legislation.
