During a friendly meeting with his German counterpart Wolfgang Schäuble, Greek Finance Minister Ioannis Stournaras provided an update on Greece’s progress in terms of compliance with the requirements of the country’s second fiscal adjustment programme.

Implementation of the fiscal and structural measures contained in country’s bailout agreement is currently being assessed by the Troika, namely representatives from the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank, and the European Commission.

A comprehensive report is due to be presented in October. The disbursement of further financial aid to Greece will be decided on the basis of the report.

During the course of the economic talks, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble reiterated the fundamental importance that Athens fulfils in full its obligations.
