France Updates List Of Airlines Eligible For Tax Break

The French tax authority has updated the list of French and foreign airlines that may benefit from a special scheme providing for exemption on the goods and services connected to their activities that they receive in France.

Under Article 262 of the General Tax Code (CGI), airlines considered eligible for the exemption may take advantage of certain goods or services VAT-free, such as supplies, repairs, maintenance, and chartering, providing that at least 80 percent of their activities take place overseas.

A list of eligible French airlines is set out in document ANNX-BOI-000215. A list of ineligible airlines is set out in document ANNX-000216. These two lists were updated on May 6, 2015.
