Embraer Partners With Dutch-Germany Wind Tunnels

by Mike Godfrey, Tax-News.com, Washington

28 November 2012

The world's third largest aircraft maker, Brazil's Embraer, has signed an agreement to collaborate more deeply with German-Dutch Wind Tunnels (DNW) towards the development of future craft.

The signing took place during a recent trade mission to Brazil, led by the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Lilianne Ploumen. Featuring 170 Dutch companies eager to expand their ties to Brazil, the trip was the largest ever Dutch trade mission to date.

Embraer has had a commercial relationship with DNW - a key player in the Europe's aviation sector - for more than a decade, using the company's advanced research facilities to test scale models of the company's new commercial and military aircraft to aid in development. The new agreement seeks to strengthen ties between the two companies for mutual benefit, by boosting the sharing of information and expertise.

DNW was set up by the Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory and the German Aerospace Center. Its tunnels are situated in a number of locations in the Netherlands and Germany.
