China is to introduce tax breaks for the development of private healthcare services and care for the elderly.

At the State Council Executive Meeting held on August 30, Premier Li Keqiang announced numerous measures to boost the Chinese health service sector, including a new regulatory system for healthcare supervision.

A briefing released after the meeting was short on detail but said: "Finance and tax authorities should study preferential income tax policies for private healthcare and elderly care enterprises."
