Cayman Shipping Registry Freezes Fees For 2009/10

by Phillip Morton, Investors Offshore.com

23 October 2009

Kenrick Ebanks, Director of Global Operations for the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry, has announced that fees will be frozen through the fiscal year 2009/10.

Ebanks said: “Despite the difficult current global economic environment, Cayman Maritime, with its prudent fiscal policies, manages to stay the course, financially speaking, and so we see no need to increase our fee structure at this time.”

Shipping Notice 01/2009, “Notice of Fees and Charges”, accessible on the Cayman Maritime’s website, provides the Registry’s current fee schedule. The Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations 2006, which currently determine the level of fees in force, will be extended for a year from March 15, 2009, but can be amended at the Registry’s discretion.
