The new capital gains tax in South Africa, which will be in force from next Monday, is set to affect the country's most wealthy people.

The new tax is levied when the taxpayer makes a total capital gain or profit of at least Rand 10, 000 and the tax will be charged at a rate between 1% and 10.5% depending on the yearly income of the taxpayer.
