COVID-19: Belgium Extends Corporate Tax Return Deadline

by Ulrika Lomas, Tax-News.com, Brussels

10 July 2020

On July 6, 2020, the Belgian Ministry of Finance announced that the deadline for the filing of corporate tax returns has been extended further, from September 24 to October 29, 2020.

The additional extension to the deadline is due to technical modifications required to the Biztax filing system to accommodate support measures provided by the Government owing to COVID-19.

The extended deadline applies to resident and non-resident corporate taxpayers and includes tax returns that are due to be filed in the period from September 24 to October 29, 2020.

The ministry said that it will prioritize the processing of any tax refunds due and requests to carry back losses if tax returns are filed by October 1, 2020.
