Brazil Announces New Anti-Dumping Duties

by Mike Godfrey, Tax-News.com, Washington

30 September 2015

Brazil has begun levying anti-dumping duties on butyl acrylate and unwrought magnesium from certain countries, the nation's Chamber of Foreign Trade announced on September 25.

CAMEX Resolution No 90 has introduced an anti-dumping duty on imports of butyl acrylate from Germany, South Africa, and Taiwan for five years. The duty ranges from USD155.64 per ton to USD650.42 per ton.

CAMEX Resolution No 91 extends the existing anti-dumping duty of USD1.18 per kilogram on imports of unwrought magnesium from China for a further five years. The duty was originally imposed in October 2004.

Butyl acrylate is used in the manufacture of paints, varnishes, and adhesives, while unwrought magnesium has numerous industrial applications.
