Brazil Adds To COVID-19 Tax Response

Brazil has announced a number of additional tax payment and filing concessions in response to COVID-19.
These include that the personal income tax filing deadline for 2019 returns has been extended from April 30, 2020, to June 30, 2020.
The filing date for the social security contributions PIS and COFINS for returns due on the 10th working day of May or June 2020 has been extended to the 10th working day of July 2020.
Payment for PIS and COFINS, and also INSS, due for March and April 2020 may be paid by the same deadlines as for July and September 2020 payments.
The filing deadline for the tax on debits and credits has been extended to the 15th working day of July 2020, from the 15th working day of April, May, and June 2020.
Various payroll contribution rates have been cut with effect from April 1, 2020, until June 30, 2020, and the rate of IOF financial transaction tax has been cut to zero percent from April 3, 2020, to July 3, 2020, for credit transactions.
