Azerbaijan Announces 2013 Tax Revenues

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Taxes has revealed that the country's tax receipts in 2013 amounted to AZN6.66bn (USD8.5bn), up from the AZN6.025bn recorded in 2012.

Profit tax provided the most revenue last year (AZN2.37bn), followed by value-added tax with AZN1.72bn. The 2012 figures for these two categories were AZN2.25bn and AZN1.48bn, respectively.

Individual income tax provided AZN859.7m to the state budget in 2013, compared with AZN813m in the previous year.

Excise duties generated AZN512m of revenue in 2013, an increase from AZN455m in 2012.

Property and land taxes accounted for AZN125m and AZN33m respectively, up from AZN105m and AZN30.6m in 2012.
