More than 85 top-level executives representing more than 35 airlines will attend ALTA's upcoming Aviation Crisis Preparedness Conference and Aviation Law Americas Conference taking place 10th to 12th September, 2008, in Miami.

Jeffrey Shane, former Under Secretary for the US Department of Transportation and Enrique Beltranena, CEO of Volaris, are confirmed to present keynote addresses during this important industry event.

ALTA's Aviation Law Americas Conference is designed to facilitate discussion of legal, aeropolitical and finance issues of interest to the Latin American and Caribbean air transport industry and those doing business in the region. Last year, this region's premiere legal aviation conference attracted over 200 delegates from 32 countries, including over 50 representatives from 30 airlines.

Critical and timely topics to be discussed include: legal requirements and implications associated with an accident investigation; managing risk and maintaining operations during a crisis; airline liability and the Montreal 99 Convention; taxes, charges and fees, and governments' creativeness as a huge challenge for the airline business; the environment, green skies and unilateral initiatives; and surviving the turbulence: lessors and lessees and getting through difficult times, among other issues.

More than 35 airlines have already confirmed their participation, including top-level executives from Aerolineas Argentinas, Aeromexico, Air Canada, Air Jamaica, Aires, Aserca, Delta Connection, Avianca, Caribbean Airlines, Cayman Airways, Cielos Airlines, Copa Airlines, DHL, Emirates Airlines, Sky Airline, Iberia, Icaro, LAN Airlines, LAN Argentina, LAN Peru, Liat Airlines, Mexicana, Nature Air, Pace Airlines, Pluna, Santa Barbara, TACA, TACA PERU, TAM-LINHAS AEREAS, TAM Mercosur, and Volaris, among others.

An impressive roster of the aviation industry's legal experts has been confirmed as speakers, including, among others: Robert McGeorge - IATA, General Counsel; Timothy Ravich - Dade County Bar Association, President; Luiz Claudio Aguiar - TAM Linhas Aereas, Legal Director; Richard Gimblett - Barlow, Lyde and Gilbert, Partner; Jan VonFlatern - Airbus Americas, Senior Counsel; and Eduardo Iglesias - TACA, Legal Vice President Greg Phillips - Willis Global Aviation, National Aviation Safety Consultant.
