Beleaguered Russian oil firm Yukos has been hit with yet another claim for unpaid back taxes by the Russian authorities, it emerged yesterday.
According to reports, the tax ministry is demanding an extra 34 billion roubles (US$1.2 billion) from Yuganskneftegas, the main production unit of Yukos, to cover the year 2003.
The news comes only days before bailiffs are due to sell off Yugansk on 19 December to help pay Yukos' overall US$26bn tax bill.
