Leading UK bookmaker William Hill yesterday announced its tax-free internet betting service is to move from the Isle Of Man to Antigua.
The Caribbean island is already the centre of the company's offshore operations with a telephone betting service and internet casino based there.
There is no betting tax in Antigua and group chairman John Brown cited that as the reason for the move. He said: 'In the current competitive climate we have been offering tax-free betting to UK customers and paying the duty ourselves. Clearly we could not carry on doing so indefinitely.'
