Vietnam's Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung will on Tuesday conclude a series of European visits, designed to increase cooperation and investment between Vietnam, the UK, Germany, and Ireland.
The European tour began in the United Kingdom, where Prime Minister Dung reportedly visited London University, and held meetings with various key City representatives.
Following this, Dung flew to Germany to meet with the German Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Walter Steinmeier, amongst other German officials.
During his visit, the Vietnamese PM was witness to the signing of economic deals between German and Vietnamese businesses worth a reported USD2.4 billion.
There then followed two days of talks in Ireland, where Dung met with Irish Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, Speaker of the House of Commons, John O'Donoghue and President of the House of Lords, Pat Moylan.
Financial market development was also reportedly high on the Prime Minister's agenda during his three country tour, with visits to the European Central Bank, Frankfurt Stock Exchange, and Irish Central Bank taking place, as well as discussions with various banking institutions.
