On January 7th, 2008, at the head office of the Vietnam Finance Ministry, Minister Vu Van Ninh received a Japanese governmental delegation headed by Finance Minister Fukushiro Nukaga.
According to the Vietnamese authorities, at the meeting, the two sides exchanged points of view on initiatives to further regional financial cooperation.
These include making preparation for Vietnam and Japan to co-chair the ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers’ Meeting, as well as the implementation of various ASEAN + 3 initiatives.
The two sides also discussed recent regional economic developments.
In addition, they agreed to foster financial cooperation within the framework of bilateral and multilateral arrangements.
