Vietnam is set to increase the import tariff levied on newsprint by 9%, it has been revealed.
The rise will take import tariffs on newsprint from the current rate of 20%, to 29%; a move which the government hopes will help the country's struggling paper producers.
In line with this, the government has revealed that it will increase the import tariffs on other kinds of paper to 29% also, which is 4% more than the current rate of 25%.
The changes come into force on February 16.
