It has been announced this week that in the first four months of 2008, two-way trading between Switzerland and Vietnam has rocketed by over 18% compared to the previous year's figures for the same period.
According to a report in the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), this equates to USD185mn, which was mainly gained from exporting coffee, sea products and furniture from Vietnam to Switzerland.
Medicine and chemical imports from Switzerland to Vietnam also increased dramatically.
By the end of 2007, Switzerland was ranked as 18th among foreign investors in the country.
