It emerged earlier this month that the Vietnamese and Irish governments have signed a Double Tax Agreement (DTA).
The 'Agreement Between The Government of Ireland and The Government of The Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income' was signed by Irish Finance Minister, Brian Cowen and Deputy Vietnamese Finance Minister Tran Xuan Ha on March 10th, in Dublin.
An agreement on overseas development cooperation was also reportedly signed during the Vietnamese delegation's two day visit to Ireland.
It is hoped that the DTA will enter into force early next year.
