The Gibraltar-based bookmaker Victor Chandler, has launched a new tax-free online betting service in Ireland in order to take advantage of the Irish market's "huge potential."
According to OnlineCasinoNews.com, the firm’s new internet presence in Ireland will be augmented by a “significant" bricks and mortar investment which will see up to twenty new shops opening in the coming years.
“With regard to future growth in Ireland, Victor Chandler has a long company history of being an investor in people and Ireland will be no exception. We plan to roll out nationwide as we recognize huge growth potential,” stated Ian Marmion, the firm’s Head of Irish Operations.
The internet is becoming a popular medium for punters to place bets, and Irish bookie Paddy Power recently reported a surge in growth of 80% in its internet division.
Victor Chandler was first formed in the UK in the 1940’s, although the firm moved to Gibraltar in 1999, enabling it to offer tax-free betting to overseas customers.
