First Deputy Head of the State Tax Administration, Olexandr Bukhanevych, announced during a parliament briefing that, in order to tackle to tax evasion in Ukraine, the administration would begin publishing the names of non-compliant taxpayers.
According to Bukhanevych, the register will be made available via the State Tax Administration’s website and will contain data about taxpayers who violate Ukrainian tax legislation. "It will give positive results by increasing revenue to the State budget, and will tackle unethical, shadow taxpayers. The register will also enable us to improve the administration of all taxes,” he stated.
Bukhanevych noted that the register will enable the administration to monitor illegal transactions in real-time and allow the administration to more efficiently deal with the perpetration of tax crimes through automated online means.
The register’s creation marks the second phase of the State Tax Administration's implementation of electronic tax reporting in Ukraine, which was launched on April 1, 2008.
