The All Party Parliamentary Group on Wine and Spirits is to study the impact of last year's large duty increase, and the potential impact of further regular rises on both wines and spirits.
The group is asking for written submissions by February 24, and will hold an oral evidence session on February 26.
The purpose of the group is to study the impact of continuous regular rises in duty on alcohol for employment and investment in the sector, and on consumer behaviour.
Recent figures from HM Revenue and Customs have shown that the Treasury is failing to meet its revenue targets for excise duty on alcohol, missing government targets by some GBP137m from April to September last year.
