by Robin Pilgrim, LawAndTax-News.com, London

21 April 2009

Several big names within the UK's construction industry have come together to urge Chancellor Darling to give them a Value Added Tax (VAT) cut in the forthcoming Budget.

With just a day to spare before Darling unveils the latest Budget on April 22, four of the industry's major players - the Construction Products Association (CPA), the Federation of Master Builders (FMB), the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) - have issued their plea for a 5% VAT reduction for property refurbishment to be introduced.
