Speaking to Gulf News on Monday, Director-General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), Abdul Rahman G. Al Mutaiwe'e predicted that the United Arab Emirates will not make any drastic changes to its company laws in the near future beyond bringing them into line with WTO rules.
"We are not going to [make] any drastic changes to existing company laws. [We will] modify them as per the requirements of the World Trade Organisation," he announced, explaining to the regional news service that Dubai's liberal tariff rules afford the Emirate a competitive advantage.
He continued:
"We will not need to [make] major changes, as our rules are already liberal compared to most international markets. We are also progressing with the [negotiation of] free trade agreements, which will help us to attract foreign products and foreign direct investment."
