The United Arab Emirates has been rated as one of the safest places to do business in the Arab world, Gulf News has reported.
According to the Financial Times' annual balance sheet for emerging markets, the UAE was ranked joint second with Qatar amongst the Arabic nations of the Middle East and Africa with a ‘high’ investment rating and a ‘low’ risk classification.
Kuwait was considered the best investment environment, achieving a 'very high' investment grade and a 'low' risk rating
The UAE also received a favourable ‘A’ credit rating, placing the nation sixth in the table, alongside Qatar.
The FT’s analysis is believed to play a key role in the decision-making of international investors when looking to invest or lend in a certain jurisdiction.
Elsewhere, global ratings published in the Inter-Arab Investment Guarantee Corporation's annual report also cast the UAE in a favourable light, noting a "steady improvement" in the investment atmosphere.
